Sharon Housing Partnership Article

The group reviewed the latest draft and made minor revisions. Mary Tobin will contact Phil Salisbury at the Sharon Advocate regarding getting it published.

SHP Presentation – Horizons for Youth Reuse Committee

The group briefly discussed putting together a Power Point presentation. Pictures of the newly constructed affordable homes in Foxboro and Amherst might be useful to show to the Committee. Jane Desberg will contact Foxboro Housing regarding pictures. 

Wilber School

Jane Desberg contacted Beacon Properties and they agreed to come to the SHP January Meeting. They are also sending along the pro forma. Beacon properties will be signing a 75 year ground lease for the property. Approximately 75 apartment units will be created and 25% of these units will be affordable. There will be a range of income limits for the affordable units including units for low income households. DEP is requiring that the Town sign on as a responsible party regarding the waste water system. The Sharon Historical Commission will be receiving approximately 6 million in tax credits to ensure that the property is kept in good repair over the 75 year lease.

9 Glenview

The closing for this property is scheduled for January. Once the home is purchased the rental income will be deposited in a revolving fund to pay for the property’s expenses as well as the costs of the lottery for this home.

Budget Request

Jane Desberg sent a request for $500 to fund the SHP to Ben Puritz. Ben has not responded.

Hunters Ridge

Jane Desberg will contact Fred Clark about status of construction of affordable units.

New Business

On December 18^th at 7PM a representative from the MA Affordable Housing Trust will be presenting to the Sharon Affordable Housing Trust. The SHP is invited.

The next meeting of the SHP is scheduled for Wednesday January 9, 2008.
